NOV 2105 : HEKEBURN

A local two day festival in the style of a miniature Burning Man festival, Waiheke Island NZ.

The shadow screen was erected on the main DJ stage as an interactive dance space with original artworks being projected on loop all night.

“From the moment the screen was erected in the afternoon, people started moving behind it with just the sun shining through, to cheers from their friends. The fun didn’t stop until 3am the next day.” Larissa Wallin

DEC 2015 Waiheke Island : A Bowl of Fruit

A 3 week workshop, 3 x 3hrs contact time with the screen, engaging 15 local homeschool children aged 6 to 11 years, plus 2 teachers.

Using original song written by the children, making their own props from found materials. The workshop culminated in a night time performance for parents and friends at a campground with live guitar and vocals by the teacher, and lights from a parked car on a screen erected in a tent. Beautifully DIY.
